We are a small farm located in the old time town of Goshen, Utah. We would like to welcome you to our goat page.
Recently we have gotten into the Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are such fun loving little animals; very affectionate. They are really growing on us, with their great personalities. Sometimes when I am milking, another of the goats will come and rest her head on my leg. When I pick up a kid, some of them will put their front legs around my neck. Still others will lick your face. Often times they will come and look up at me as if to say, “Please give me a hug.”
Nigerians can also be used for milking, as many of them give high quantities of milk for their size and also quality milk.
Our 2010 spring kids were already born and placed in new homes. Soon, we will have a doe kidding for fall kids. We look forward to our spring kids, as well.
Nigerians are easy to handle, yet give us quality, sweet tasting milk with good quantity for home use. We have several bucks to choose from in our 2010 breeding season. We try to choose bucks that will complement our doe's conformation or improve it. Nigerian bucks can also be used with standard sized does, to create first generation Minip-goats. Examples are Mini Nubian and Mini Alpine.
We raise quiet goats, who are used to a variety of experiences. Also our does are milked daily and milk weights/quantities are taken with each milking. The reason for this is to show how much milk they are actually giving, so there is no guess work. You will know what you are buying, if you purchase a milk goat. Milk samples are sent into a DHI lab monthly to monitor butterfat and protein. It is the butterfat that gives the sweet tasting milk that tastes much like cow's milk.
Enjoy our page.
